The Remote Control Walking Moaning Zombie

Life isn’t nearly good enough, unless it’s full of fake zombies. It’s a rule, we geeks apparently need zombies to live and breathe. Well now you can own a remote controlled zombie, although hopefully he won’t go rogue and start trying to lash out at the one holding the remote. The remote itself is in the shape of a brain and it appears the only function of the remote is to turn him on. Once on he groans and trudge forward just like a real live zombie. Sadly, he doesn’t eat brains though. To pick one up it will cost you $24.95.

USB Key-Pressed Ferris Wheel works when you type

Some USB gadgets are very useful, quirky looking ones that almost look like toys can double as a USB hub. Well this is not one of those gadgets. It’s sole function is to sit there and look pretty. It is USB powered and when you type the ferris wheel begins to turn and flashing lights then kick on as well as having two tiny cars that move on a track at the base of the wheel. You stop typing the ferris wheel stops working. Now even after knowing it’s a pointless gadget, I had guessed that this would be a $15 toy. However, it’s actually double that, it’s being sold for $30 on Brando.

Slim Trim Razor keeps lines even

If you’re trying to look nice but without running to the barber all of the time you might pick up one of these razors. You just adjust it to the perfect width of side burns and you get straight lines. That is unless you happen to jump or something and end up with a small squiggle in the wrong direction. However, as long as you take your time and don’t rush through the job you should be fine. I suppose it also could be used in other areas of your beard if you’re the type that likes to get creative though.

Sadly, this is still just a design but as much as the razor companies are always looking for an edge over the competition I don’t see it staying that way. They are always adding more blades and claiming to be far superior of anyone else. The design was created by James McAdam who is from London. Which also could mean that those in that part of the world would get it first and those of us in the US would have to wait a little longer.

Speaker Buddies look like terrified little children

If your speakers are looking a little too normal lately you might check out this design. These are still just a design and not quite to the point that they will be retailed just yet. The strange little speakers look about like a terrified child curled up in the corner. Like perhaps one that was just traumatized by whatever it is that you happen to do in your house when no one is looking. The speakers were designed by Alex Underwood, who decided to take an odd direction with the materials for the speakers.

He used Expanded Polystyrene, which is typically a material that is deemed cheep and is just all around overlooked for use. The speakers are meant to be used in pairs, and are actually fairly large. They are also super lightweight and although shown here in white the manufacturing in EPS allows for a wide range of color options. The look of the speaker is meant to capture child-like memories and emotions. Frankly, the only emotion I see in the speakers is fear.

The Dead Star

Solar Light Cap lights your path, sacrifices your dignity

If you’re tired of bumping into things at night, and don’t feel like using a flashlight then here is an alternative solution. Yes, it appears to be an average baseball cap, but when darkness falls two little lights kick on making you look like a major dork, but one that can see at night. Yes, the lights are powered by a solar panel, so that’s nice but it’s still not attractive to have a light shining down your nose from your hat. It takes only two hours for the hat to charge and will run for 36 hours. To pick one up head to Think Geek, it will cost you $34.99.

Creative Windows Advertisement

I found this at CrunchGear, what a creative ad they ever made, it reads: “Windows Vista - The Digital Future Starts Here.” I don’t mind if it is in a five star hotel toilet but not this one please. I wondered how Microsoft reacts when they saw this

iPhone Fly

This is what about, Captain-ahab dropped his new iPhone 3G into the Farmington River. He said “seeing it was the river that took it from me, it’s gonna at least catch me some fish.” So he took it apart, and make into turned into fishing lures, shaped like a fly.

Body - Lens cloth
legs - USB to motherboard connector
Head and wings - Touch screen to Motherboard connector
Second wing - Apple gasket/sticker
other various screws and parts.

Ouch. Can’t they fix water damaged phone? I believe some parts are still working.

Never shovel snow again with Heated Traction Mats

It’s not quite time for winter gadgets just yet, but this particular gadget might take a little saving up to get, so it’s probably best if you come across it now. The traction mat is made to sit outside all winter long and whenever it begins to snow you flip it on. It then heats up and will melt snow off of your walkway. Which means no more back breaking shoveling of snow. For some this is just another tool to be lazy with, but for those with back problems or the elderly this gadget would be extremely helpful.

Not everyone has slave laborers children to shovel the walkway every time it snows. The mat can melt up to 2” of snow per hour, so you might run into issues if a blizzard heads your way. Also you have to flip it on before the snowfall starts, so it’ll work better if you’re the type that watches the weather closely. The mat is a bit pricey, for 15′ long x 24” wide it will cost you $1,099. The longer and wider you want the mat the more it’s going to cost.

Send your fish to school with this training kit

A school of fish takes on new meaning with the Fish School Training Kit that won’t really increase the IQ of your pet fish, but at least it will create an illusion that they’re smart enough to respond to verbal commands. Get a dog (or dolphin) if you want a more obedient pet, as most generic fish are plain dumb. I know I won’t be forking out $39.99 for this, but hey - if you think it is amusing to see your fish play catch, football and basketball, then why not adorn your aquarium with the Fish School Training Kit?...interesting

Flower Pot Ring is practically useless

Most people would wear a ring to signify their marriage alliance, while some others who have gone past the lovey-dovey stage would prefer to use rings as a platform to show off their newfound riches as hubby rakes in the dough. No idea on why the Flower Pot Ring is in existence though, are you married to Mother Nature? It comes with a tiny plant complete with real soil within - makes me wonder whether you’ll need to be really careful while wearing this as the entire plant with its roots could just tumble out whenever your hand is turned upside down. A fashion statement, maybe, but inconvenient - definitely!

Happy WakeUp ArousalClock wakes you up using your cellphone

If you are having issues with waking up overly groggy and want nothing more than to stay in your warm bed every morning. Then you might try an alarm clock like this. It waits to wake you up until you are almost awake or already awake. Which means you won’t be dead asleep and will be more likely to wake up nice and refreshed. Now that’s only if it occurs just before the time the alarm is set for. Otherwise, it will wake you up at the regularly scheduled time.

This alarm is actually an app for your cellphone. How it monitors your sleep is by utilizing the microphone in your phone and monitoring how you sound. Just place the phone under your pillow and it will listen all night as you sleep. Now, this sort of thing could be hard for those that squirm a lot, because the phone could easily go from under your pillow to onto the floor. To purchase full rights to the application it will cost you 49.95€ or about $73. That or you can try it out for a week for a lower price to decide if the application will work for you.

Single Seat Helicopter designed by Igarashi Design

Hmmm… this single seat helicopter looks interesting. It is designed by Igarashi Design. It has everything that gives the private flight a higher reliability. Training is needed before you fly this helicopter but wondering how the single seat helicopter training works.

Maybe you can start with the remote control helicopter first then with the standard helictopter with trainer beside you and when you get familiar with the standard one then I think you won’t problem of flying the single seat heli.

Alright back to the topic, the design looks a bit robotic and it is very small compared to other helicopter. There’s no door I see, raining time will be a big headache. But no stress, as this is just a design.

The Civic Musical Road

This is not a funny sign or an ad sign, this thing go for real. It is located in Lancaster, CA, the Honda’s musical road actually plays a rendition of “The William Tell Overture”. The sound is made by the tires ~ passing over a series of carefully cut groves in the road’s surface. According to Honda, the road was tuned specifically to the tires and wheelbase of a Civic.

Now there are some local residents want it to be paved over just because not everyone drives a Honda Civic at the exact right speed.

I wondered how it sounds like when we go reverse. Hmm… interesting.

Finger drum set to drive your colleagues nuts

There is definitely someone you know who drums his/her fingers whenever the situation gets rather tense, boring or impatient - and you could be guilty of that as well. Why not add some pizazz with the Finger Drum set? This tabletop version helps you release your inner rhythm, where the tiny instruments light up and produce the appropriate sound when tapped. Definitely not meant to be used when the boss is around. Each $29.98 purchase comes with record and playback buttons to help you capture your best solo efforts. Each Finger Drum set is powered by a trio of AAA batteries, so it is best to get rechargeables with this if tapping your fingers is second nature to you.

The Fire-powered Dutch Tub

This is one of those designs that seems so ridiculously simple, that when someone praises it you know there are at least a couple people grumbling under their breath that they totally could have thought of that themselves. The sad thing is, we never do, the simplest most obvious ideas don’t always come to the general public. Probably because we tend to think surely someone thought of this before. Well this one was designed by Floris Schoonderbeek, you site you can check out here. Floris made a lo-tech hot tub by harnessing fire to heat up the water. This way you can put it out in the middle of nowhere if you want without worries of having power to hook up the tub with.

The down side is that since it is heated by fire it doesn’t stay on all of the time. Which means it’s going to take a little time for the fire to heat the water again, 2.5 hours to be exact. I could imagine that would get frustrating for some. Yet, the perk of having a tub right out in the middle of gorgeous scenery with not a house in sight would definitely be worth it for many.
